Production information:
Our sage grows at 1100 m altitude on sunny meadows in Abtenau. We cultivate it with care and harvest the leaves by hand when they have reached their full aroma and potency. After being air-dried for one week, the leaves are infused in high-quality olive oil for 6–8 weeks, gently extracting the active compounds. The finished herbal extract is filtered and mixed with 9.5% pure beeswax. This blend is carefully warmed to a maximum of 40 °C – just enough to melt the wax, preserving the plant’s natural properties. The result: a premium, natural salve with the power of sage and genuine Leierhof craftsmanship.
Important note on use:
Caution! Due to its high content of thujone (a neurotoxin), sage essential oil must not be ingested. (Not for consumption!)
